St Albans Civic Society joins fight
against Rail Freight Depot - The civic watchdogs
have used one-third of their annual funds to alert train
passengers to the potential impact of the development on
rail travel in the area. It is claimed that each of the 5
warehouses is bigger than Terminal Five at Heathrow.

SuBo out shopping in Radlett - Troubled Britain's
Got Talent star Susan Boyle was spotted today out shopping
in Radlett, her first public outing since being discharged
from The Priory. She was seen smiling and sporting a

Top French honour for Radlett's
Ernie - Ernie Brewer, 84, who stormed ashore under
heavy fire on Gold beach exactly 65 years ago was today
given France's top decoration, the Legion d'Honneur, as
part of the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the
D-Day landings.

Woman charged with speeding
con - Lynette Haftel, The Avenue, has been charged
with four counts of perverting the course of justice. She
is accused of falsely nominating a man as the driver of her
vehicle after it was caught speeding.

Festival - A pirate adventure game and Britain’s
premier female equestrian team, Jive Pony, are two of the
highlights of this year's Radlett Festival which will be
held in Phillimore Recreation Ground, Gills Hill, from noon
until 4.30pm on Sunday, June 7.

Bra Banks come to Radlett
- Bras donated to the bright pink recycling bank in
Newberries Car Park or the council offices in the Radlett
Centre will be recycled with the money donated to the
Breast Cancer Campaign. Some of the bras will also be
donated to women in poorer countries.

Rail Freight Terminal Fight is
Back - CAMPAIGNERS are urging the public to get
behind the fight to stop the building at Park Street. A
public consultation will be held on Friday, March 13, from
11am-7pm and Saturday, March 14, from 10am-4pm in the
Mountbatten Suite at the Noke Hotel, Chiswell Green, and
campaign group Stop the Rail Freight Exchange (STRiFE) is
calling for the public to again fight to get the proposal

be giving a talk in the Library at 7pm on Thursday,

Station ticket office hours set to
change - First Capital Connect have proposed an
increase in the hours on Saturdays and a decrease on
Sundays. It is proposed that on Saturdays the office will
stay open until 7:15pm rather than 6:30pm and on Sundays
the office will open later at 8:00am and close earlier at
