Janmashtami festival expects record
crowds - This year's festival at
Bhaktivedanta Manor in Letchmore Heath over the Bank
Holiday weekend is expected to attract a record 65,000
people. On August 25 the manor will also be
celebrating the birthday of the founding guru of the
Hare Krishna movement, A. C Bhaktivedanta Swami

Top award for Radlett
swimmer - Vishal Chohan, 16, of Craigweil
Avenue , has been crowned the best young lifesaver in
Hertfordshire. The award, presented for an individual’s
role or involvement within a swimming club and their
overall contribution to lifesaving in the county, follows
four years of involvement in the Salmon Club swimming

Car rammed and stolen in
Radlett - The victim was driving along
Shenley Hill when a small, dark vehicle drove into the back
of his black BMW. When he pulled over and got out of his
car he was assaulted by two men who claimed to be armed and

More burglaries in Radlett
- Police are expressing concerns that there has been
a spate of 3 burglaries in a week in the village -
Craigweil Avenue, Watling Street and the Ridgeway. All were
minor incidents but residents are being asked to stay

Radlett Conservation Area being
appraised - by Hertsmere Borough Council.
The appraisal, being undertaken jointly with BEAMS Ltd, the
trading arm of the Hertfordshire Building Preservation
Trust, will follow guidelines set out by English Heritage
and will also help to support future planning decisions for
the area. Feedback should be made to BEAMS Ltd before 5

Radlett tops country - in speeding
tickets - A survey of one and a half
million drivers by the Insurance company, Admiral,
revealed that the postcode with the most speeding
points per driver is WD7. A staggering 27 per cent of
drivers in WD7, which includes Shenley, have at least
one speeding conviction from the last five years.

Donate blood at Fairfield
School - THIS SUNDAY, 20th July, The Joely
Bear Appeal has arranged a blood donor session in Fairfield
School Hall, Watford Road, from 9:30am to 4:30pm. Besides
existing donors, the National Blood Service would welcome
all new donors between 17 and 60 (weighing no less than 7st
