Bring your christmas tree along to the Newberries Car Park on
Tuesday 6th January and the council will shred it - no charge.

Battlers Green Drive takes top prize - David Press
and his grand daughter Roxanne collected the Radlett
Horticultural Society prize from Councillor Chris Wilkins at a
ceremony last week. Marilyn and Martin Kempton, of Cragg
Avenue, won second place and the third place prize was given to

Inter-faith success in Radlett -
Approaching one hundred guests from across Radlett and Bushey
were welcomed at an “uplifting” multi-faith celebration and
service at the Radlett and Bushey Reform Synagogue bringing

services, Hertsmere's MP, James Clappison, raised the
“widespread concern” since the closure of Radlett Fire Station

Radlett green belt building
'inevitable' - The Government has called for all
regions to increase their targets for housing over the next 23
years, meaning Hertsmere could face a hike in new developments.
They are demanding the building of 8,000 extra homes in
Hertsmere in that timeframe. Earlier in the year the target was

Radlett singer strikes gold - Helen Lappert, a member
of the Amersham-based 'NoteOrious' quartet, won a gold medal at
the National competition for the Ladies Association of British
Barbershop Singers, in Harrogate. NoteOrious is now set to
represent the association at the European convention in Holland
next March, and will also be invited to compete at the
international convention in Philadelphia , USA, in 2010.

Blears 'soft rejection' lets
HelioSlough in for another bite at the Radlett airfield
cherry - the company is to reapply for permission to
build a massive railfreight terminal on the old airfield site
in Park Street. A company spokesperson stated: 'Our further
hope is that, against the backdrop of the Inspector’s Report
and secretary of state’s letter, the discussion on the second
proposal will focus solely on the issue of an alternative
site(s).’ If this is the case, it could lead local opposition

Boys sentenced for attack on motorist
in Radlett - Four youths, one from Radlett, were given
community orders at Dacorum Magistrates Court for an attack in
March this year. After remonstrating with the gang for throwing
an egg at his car, they punched, kicked and beat him with a

Radlett & Shenley Children's
Centres - Earlier this year, Hertsmere Leisure was
given the go-ahead to build centres in Shenley and Radlett.
They are planning a consultation with local parents, carers,
children and everybody running services for children aged

St John's cover up for next
summer - St John's primary school is to get a
large sunshade in its playground to protect children from the
sun. Parents raised half and the Harpenden Building Society
